Jena Six Cases Update

Special Final Call News Report on the Jena 6 by Jesse Muhammad
September 5, 2007

Jena, La--On yesterday, September 4, Mychal Bell had a motion hearing wherein his attorneys were demanding that all charges be dropped against Mr. Bell. The white Judge J.P. Mauffray dropped the conspiracy charges against him but the attempted aggravated battery charges remain and he now faces 15yrs in prison instead of 22 years. However his team of skilled lawyers filed two motions in the Federal Appeals Court on yesterday. The motions are 1)new trial and 2)delay sentencing.

Marcus Jones, Mychal's father, said "My son is feeling a little better after what happened yesterday but he still knows he's not out of the woods yet. I appreciate the Final Call, the Nation of Islam and the Millions More Movement for everything you all been doing."
Two more of the Jena 6 have now been arraigned and their trials will begin soon
