Barack Obama Accepts the Democratic Nomination

Tonight I had the opportunity to sit and watch via television like millions around the world as Senator Barack Obama accepted the Democratic nomination to be the candidate for President of the United States. As I watched two things came to mind:

1. How will those of us sitting at home leave our mark on this Earth to let the world know we existed? How will we use our gifts to be the change we want to see?

2. And close to the end of his acceptance speech Obama said "I know there are those who dismiss such beliefs as happy talk. They claim that our insistence on something larger, something firmer and more honest in our public life is just a Trojan Horse for higher taxes and the abandonment of traditional values. And that's to be expected. Because if you don't have any fresh ideas, then you use stale tactics to scare voters. If you don't have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from."

We all have an opportunity to do something extraordinary in our lifetime. Bring in fresh ideas, innovative strategies and unique movements that will further usher in the new generation of leaders who will focus on serving the people first and explode beyond any outdated boundaries outdated leaders may try to keep us in.

In February, The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan instructed us to pray for the protection of Obama and his family. I have, will continue to and I hope you will do the same.

Remember, Mediocrity is NOT in Your D.N.A. So why settle?
