Gustav Threatens New Orleans; Evacuations Already Rolling!

Friday, August 29 marked the third year anniverary ofthe devasting impact of Hurricane Katrina. The past two years I went there to participate, photograph and report on the commemorative events but THIS year most of that was brought to a halt. Due to the threat of Tropical Storm Gustav people have jammed packed Interstate 55 heading out to avoid a repeat of what happened three years ago. Could this be another major disaster? Continue to log on here and I will keep you posted.

  1. Gustav impacted most of southern & central Louisiana, I evacuated to Dallas, TX. When I returned, I recieved many reports of harsh treatment of some of the evacuees by some local goverment officials at the shelters and also some evacuees getting fingerprinted & outstanding warrants executed on them.
Now that sounds like concertration camps!
