NOI Student Minister Nuri speaks in the Southwest Region

Written by Jesse Muhammad

Adorned in the uniform of the Fruit of Islam....powerful in his delivery of the Teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad as taught by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan....words resonating with the audience.

The one I write of is Nation of Islam Student Minister Nuri Muhammad of Muhammad Mosque No. 74 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was invited to Texas to speak in San Antonio and Austin as the keynote for two critical community events. The one focus of the two gatherings was to spread the theme of the upcoming Saviours' Day convention which is "Accepting Responsibility to Build Our Own Communities".

On January 29 he spoke at the Carver Library in San Antonio at the event coordinated by Brother Rickey X and the Power of One group. The next day he would address an excited audience at the YMCA in Austin, which was coordinated by student study group facilitator Brother Robert Muhammad and the Austin Study Group members.

At both events, Brother Nuri would electrify the audiences. "Usually when you hear the word responsibility, people start running. But from the looks of this turnout, you all are not afraid of the word", he said in Austin as people smiled. "Many of us don't want the responsibility. Many of us want the teachings but we don't want the training and the discipline that goes along with that teachings."

Bro. Nuri joined the NOI in 1992 at seventeen years old. After working hard in Chicago, Bro. Nuri officially became the student minister of Mosque No. 74 in 1996. The Mosque soon increased its membership while purchasing and renovating a state of the art facility affectionately called the “Miracle on 38th Street”. "The Miracle" houses the new Mosque, Muhammad’s School (a K-6 elementary school), Bismillah Childcare Ministry and Learning Academy (a pre-school for ages 3 months to 5 years), Nu World CafĂ© and Studio 74 Barber and Beauty Salon. He is also a proud husband and father.

Look for more coverage on these two events in an upcoming edition of The Final Call Newspaper.

  1. Peace and Blessings!!
May Allah continue to bless and guide your commendable work, Big Brother! Brother Nuri is incredible!! I have a couple of his speeches on cd that I got from the brothers in Brooklyn, Lost Sheep. I've been amazed and grateful ever since. The power of his energy and spirit seems to match the power of the Message. I truly pray he finds his way to the Camden/Philly area soon.

  2. Peace Family,

What I like about Brother Nuri and some others that I have viewed and listened to on the noi web minstry is that they remember that the Honorable Louis Farrakhan teaches us, as they were taught, to do not speak ahead of your power to do.

  3. A very beautiful Brother, as with all of the NOI.

  4. Mr. Farrakhan you warned all black men who went away from their roots that they could not fathom the depths of evil that the white man will stoop to defeat and destroy a black person. i was one of those black men. i did not stray away from being black or my culture, i thought i could live in this world without fighting racism. and since i have fought the white man at every turn. i just did not know or fathom the depths of their evil minds until i made it to the white house for help under a black president. the white house is helping me now. three special agents in charge of the honolulu field office removed because of their evil towards me. now i am in west allis wi and a new demon Nancy McNamara special agent in charge is about to lose her position or kill me. i will die fighting this devil. she tried what the agents in hawaii tried and failed at, and that is to demy me employment until i bow to her or become a lowlife black man or a nigger in her eyes and use drugs or steal. she will learn like the rest. thank you sir for assisting my father and brother in making me into the fighter i am today. and i can fathom the depths of evil they will stoop to now, they stoop to those depths to cause me brain damage, hearing loss, slander my character, starve me on the streets of honolulu after causing my eviction from two apartments and paying my employers to assist in the torture and they failed and i was made stronger and more into a man of god.
