On June 2, an audience of mostly Blacks filled the future home of the Houston Black Firefighters Association (HBFFA) for a town hall meeting to keep the heat on the leadership of the HFD and Houston Mayor Bill White to give a proper and just response to the noose incident that has the community upset.

Speakers included community activist Deric Muhammad, attorney Sadiyah Evangelista, Deloyd Parker, NOI Student Minister Robert Muhammad, HBFFA President Otis Jordan, Houston Councilwoman Jolanda Jones and many more from the audience,

The next planning meeting will take place in one week at the SHAPE Community Center and they have started a petition in hopes of getting 10,000 signatures to deliver at the city council meeting on June 23.

Look for more details in an upcoming edition of The Final Call Newspaper.
