Saviours' Day 2010 here we come!
I will be boarding the plane soon with my family headed to Rosemont, IL for the 80th anniversary celebration of the Nation of Islam's service to the Black community and the country. I have been blogging a lot about this over the last few weeks, so you can tell I am very excited.
But I'm not the only one. Check out the blogs of Brother Hannibal, Brother Ashahed, Brother Brian and others. The online buzz is astronomical.
This particular post is to inform you about some of the wonderful Saviours' Day events that will be taking place for the children and young adults. The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan is a firm believer in not excluding the youth so there is always something for them.
What's in store?
Mother Khadijah Farrakhan, the NOI's First Lady, will be hosting the annual Children's Village. This year the multi-dimensional fun zone will be officially renamed the Mother Khadijah Farrakhan Children's Village at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, Feb. 26. There is also going to a full program featuring musical performances, drill exhibitions, a science workshop by Mr. Freeze, carnival rides and more for two days. Plus it is free for the children.
The youth & young adult workshops (flyer above) will include titles such as From Gangsters to Gods (Brothers only), Effective Communication, Girls to Goddessess (Sisters only - Mothers and daughters) and a Youth Leadership Conference that will feature my sibling Deric Muhammad of Houston.
I will be posting daily updates on my blog, Twitter and Facebook pages so be sure follow!
