Non-Breaking News: Blacks and Hispanics living in poverty more than Whites says U.S. Census report

The U.S. Census Bureau said Tuesday that more than 46 million American citizens are living in poverty according to their recently released report. 46 million? DANG! The nation’s poverty rate now stands at a little over 15 percent and has increased for three consecutive years. If your family of four has an annual income less than $22,314, the U.S. government considers your family to be in poverty.

Not surprisingly, Blacks and Hispanics getting hit the hardest. With a 27.4 percent rate, Blacks in poverty is more than double that of Whites. This also means that the rate for Blacks is more than double the national rate of 15.1 percent. Yes, double. The poverty rate for Black children is a little over 39 percent. Our Hispanic counterpart isn't fairing much better according to the Census Bureau. The Hispanic poverty rate rose to 26.6 percent and the poverty rate for Hispanic children hit right at 35 percent.

Reading this report and watching President Obama bout with Congress over the Jobs Act, reminds me of the words of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. "Do For Self or Suffer The Consequences." Also, in The Muslim Program, he stated that "We do not believe that America will ever be able to furnish enough jobs for her own millions of unemployed, in addition to jobs for the 20,000,000 black people as well." (Note: It's now 40+ million)

Lesson: If nobody will hire you, create your own job. Hire yourself. People do it every day. Just a thought.
