The 2012 Saviours' Day convention marks the 82nd year of the Nation of Islam's existence in North America. Each year, to commemorate the birth of its founder Master W. Fard Muhammad (February 26, 1877), thousands of members and supporters of the Nation of Islam from around the world make the journey to attend the annual convention during the last week of February for a weekend of fellowship, networking, information dissemination and spiritual renewal.
All workshops, plenaries, vending and more will be held at the Stephens Convention Center Feb. 23-25. (See full schedule here) The weekend is always ended with a major address by the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. This year, Minister Farrakhan’s subject: “What Will 2012 Bring to America, The World, and Black and Oppressed People” is scheduled to be delivered Feb. 26 at the United Center. (Get tickets here)
Events begin tonight at 7 p.m. in the Plenary Room, Level 2N where all are invited to come and be a part of the live studio audience for the broadcast of Dr. Ava Muhammad’s popular talk show “Elevated Places.” Dr. Muhammad will delve into the subject of “Separation” with Student Minister Nuri Muhammad, Dr. Ridgely A. Mu’min Muhammad, Manager of Muhammad’s Farms in Dawson, Georgia and others. I plan to be there!
As always, be on the look out for plenty of blogs, tweets and Facebook posts about my Saviours' Day 2012 experience!
