(PHOTOS) Hundreds Rally After All-White Jury Acquits ex-Houston Police Officer in Videotaped Beating of Black Teen Chad Holley

The temperature is getting hotter in Houston and a recent development inside one of its courtroom has people even hotter in the streets! Hundreds converged downtown on the steps of the Houston Criminal Justice Building on May 17 to voice their disgust with the not guilty verdict given by the jury in the trial of White former HPD officer Andrew Blomberg. He was one of four ex-cops charged with official oppression in the videoed beating of Black teen Chad Holley in March 2010. It was an all-White jury..Is this really a surprise? No, but the tension is high. What will be the fate of the other cops? More updates coming. Until then, check out some of the photos I took at the rally. And if you're unfamiliar with this case, watch the beating for yourself here!

  1. It is this type of injustice that is creating a separation between the black and white in this society.

    1. Only thing that is creating separation is other peoples beliefs.

  2. It is this blatant injustice and racism that is bringing whites our to support the Black community in Houston. One TV station even admitted they couldn't find anyone who supported the not guilty verdict against this racist cop.

  3. This type of blatant racism and injustice is, in fact, bringing in folks who are white to support the Black community in Houston. One TV station even admitted not being able to find any white people who supported the not guilty verdict for the racist cop who stomped Chad Holley. With the video going viral, everyone could see just how brutal Houston cops are to Black youth when they think no one is watching.

    1. Henious attacks occur against every single color ethnicity. It seems the media loves to get the African American community all rowled up by making blowing things like this up. The whole reason Chad Holley had an all white jury is because 14 African Americans that were a part of the jury pool had admitted to seeing the video that WENT VIRAL and they said they were UNABLE to look past their personal opinions to give him a fair trial.

  4. I feel for them. I am brown colored and I feel how people look at me like I am a nobody just because of my color. They can talk to my hand.
