Photos: The Rebirth of the Salaam Restaurant progressing in Chicago. Are you ready to experience high civilization?

Recently, I received an email regarding an update on the Rebirth of the Nation of Islam's Salaam Restaurant in Chicago on W. 79th Street. Within the last three weeks, a number of improvements have been made to the restaurant that the hardworking team in the Windy City wanted everyone to be made aware of.

According to the email, new tile has been installed in the bakery, three new digital state-of-the-art 48 inch flat-screen menu boards have been installed in Crescent Cafe, a customized (Point of Sale) cashier system has been installed, three 42 inch flat-screen televisions and a 90 inch projector has been installed in Crescent Café, a new ventilation hood has been installed in the kitchen, new cooking equipment has been installed in the kitchen, brand new coffee machines have been installed, exterior door and window frames have been painted like new in Crescent Café, and a new internal and external high definition security camera system has been installed. Beautiful photos shared!

"It's been twelve years since our restaurant has been open for business and we want to do all that we can to make sure it is just right when we re-open," said Berve Muhammad, Student National Secretary of the NOI. "We thank you for your patience as we continue, with the help of Allah, to make the Salaam Restaurant one the best dining experiences not only in Chicago, but in America and an illustration of the high civilization that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad said we can and must exhibit. No reservations will be needed for the grand opening weekend."
