|(The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan walked the streets of Chicago on July 16)|
A few weeks ago, the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan announced on WVON radio that he would be leading the Fruit of Islam, the men of the Nation of Islam, into the streets. This would serve as a call to stem the crime and violence in the Black community in Chicago and throughout the America. On the evening of July 16, Minister Farrakhan hit the streets of the Windy City. Yes, walked the streets.
The Final Call's Assistant Editor Ashahed Muhammad was on the grounds covering it. "The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan talked to many of the residents as he walked through areas of Chicago's Auburn-Gresham neighborhood today. Many young men, like this one (pictured above), heard a strong and encouraging word from the Minister. They felt Minister Farrakhan's genuine love," said Ashahed Muhammad in a Facebook post.
He furthered shared, "We also went to the basketball courts at the park between 81st & 83rd and Loomis. The Minister had a long talk with the young (and not so young) men out there. All warriors. They asked thought-provoking questions. Additionally, free DVD copies of the lecture 'Justifiable Homicide: Black Youth in Peril' were given out to many...I spoke to few of the women in the neighborhood who broke down and cried. They were so happy to see the Minister and the FOI. Many children ran up to Minister Farrakhan and he hugged them. Some mothers brought their children out to see him saying: 'There's Farrakhan and the brothers!'"
In a Twitter post, Father Michael Pfleger said ""The Nation of Islam takes to the streets tonight...Brothers in suits and ties covering the neighborhood" CHANGE WILL COME"
Nation of Islam men from across the country answered the call of Minister Farrakhan and hit the streets in their cities as well; going into the highways and byways to bring life, light and power to the people! Check out some of the photos I pulled from Facebook!
Thank you Minister Farrakhan for leading the way! Be sure to read more about this in an upcoming edition of The Final Call Newspaper.
