[Relevant Throwback ] "Dear Debra"- A Letter to BET by Hip-Hop Artist Jasiri X

Honestly, I cannot remember the last time I actually watched the BET Awards Show. No, seriously. The past few years I read about it via Twitter feeds and music sites. I read a lot about the 2012 BET Awards, however, I what made me smile was receiving an email from Jasiri X regarding a classic he released over two years ago. Yet, it is STILL RELEVANT! This is what I call a "Relevant Throwback" because the same things Jasiri breaks down in this video still going on.

This is a open letter to the BET and their CEO Debra Lee. "Dear Debra" is a critical but loving letter exploring the possibilities of BET. "I know they say that you should shake what ya mama gave you/but you are a reflection of how ya mama raised you," Jasiri spits. "And you get what you give so don't let karma enslave you/I'm willin to campaign like Obama to change you."

"Dear Debra" was produced by Kai Roberts and directed by Paradise the Arkitech of X-Clan. No ducks were harmed in the making of this video. Press Play below!
