Rapper observes "Bun B Day" anniversary giving back to needy families with food drive at Houston Food Bank

Thursday, August 30, marked the one year anniversary of Houston's Bernard "Bun B" Freeman Day, declared by Mayor Annise Parker in honor of the hip-hop legend. As always, Bun B chose to utilize his platform to give back to the community by hosting a food drive in partnership with the Houston Food Bank. People dropped off donations and had an opportunity to meet and take a photo with Bun.

Fellow rapper Trae Tha Truth, who does his fair share of giving back to the community, also stopped by the food bank to support the event. Those who couldn't make it out can make a donation online to the Houston Food Bank. $1 = 3 meals.

When asked by a reporter why he focuses so much on giving back, Bun said, "I don't want to be one of those people who just take from the community and not give back."...That's what we call "Keeping It Trill."
