President Barack Obama scheduled to visit Chicago to address gun violence


Since I have been one of many who has frequently criticized President Barack Obama for his choice not to address the gun violence in Chicago like he's done for Aurora, Newtown, and Tucson, I applaud this latest news.

According to NBCChicago.com, President Obama will visit Chicago Friday to talk about the ongoing issue of gun violence in the city. The President is expected to address gun violence as well as strengthening the economy for the middle class in Tuesday evening's State of the Union address, which he will continue to discuss Friday at an event in the city. The visit comes shortly after First Lady Michelle Obama attended a funeral for slain teen Hadiya Pendleton.
