Death row inmate Reginald Clemons' case scheduled to go before the Missouri Supreme Court

by Brother Jesse Muhammad

Reginald Clemons' case, which I have covered the past few years for The Final Call newspaper, is scheduled to go before the Missouri Supreme Court on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 9:30 am. The Court will hear oral arguments from the State and from our legal defense team. According to Justice for Reggie campaign organizers, this is an important day in the fight for justice for Reggie. They are mobilizing buses to attend the hearing in Jefferson City.

The audio of the oral arguments can be heard online here. I will certainly be listening in to see what the outcome will be.

Mr. Clemons was convicted and sentenced to death in connection with the 1991 deaths of two White siblings, Robin and Julie Kerry, who drowned after falling from the Chain of the Rocks Bridge into the Mississippi River. Mr. Clemons has maintained his innocence and has stated that he gave coerced confessions after suffering multiple beatings from St. Louis Metropolitan police detectives. Read more on the history of his grave injustice.
